We had an excellent time
last week. I particularly liked the big fluffy towels and cotton bedding
and china mugs for tea.
Glengorm castle was a
good spot- nice walks and a fab cafe lots of local food and great
Italian hot choc and coffees also have their own veg which was
excellent.
We had 5 sightings of
otter, three from the living room window. The best though was on the
side of loch scriven where we watched one fishing for 3/4hr only a few
meters away.
Saw porpoise most days.
White tailed eagles
at Frisa very impressive too.
Had a trip over to
Iona which we enjoyed but needs to be a nice day. Would recommend the
scenic route on the west coast rather than via Craignure much prettier
and probably quicker.

Salen pier House is by far
the best place on Mull to relax, drink wine slowly, have a barbeque and
watch the Cal Mac to the Western Isles steam past. The House is of a
size where we managed to safely lose the children, but they seemed to be
happy with situation, exploring the beach, rock pools, grounds and
generally having a ball.
No near neighbours, no noise,
just peace and quiet in first rate accommodation. Oh and the sun shone
gloriously for the first three days of our week, so we spent those days
on the beach, getting brown, (red) and enjoying the lack of other people
next to us. A spot of swimming in the sea to cool down and it was round
to Tobermory for a first class fish supper.
All round everything was great.

Salen Pier House
provided us with excellent modern accommodation and wonderful views out
to sea. It was ideally located for us to visit all parts of the Isle of
Mull. We found the house itself home from home and was equipped with
everything we needed to make our stay on Mull a memorable one. The
living areas are spacious and relaxing. We visited the Mediterranean
Restaurant in Salen and the near-by Glenforsa Hotel, both served good
food. Other restaurants we visited were close by in Tobermory and we
especially recommend a visit to Cafe Fish! Thanks for a wonderful stay!
